Republican Rep. Ted Yoho of Florida apologized Wednesday for a heated exchange in which he allegedly called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a “f—ing bitch.”

“I rise to apologize for the abrupt manner of the conversation I had,” Yoho said.

But he denied swearing at the 30-year-old socialist.

“The offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues and if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding,” he said.

Yoho on Monday confronted Ocasio-Cortez outside the Capitol, telling the New York Democrat she was “disgusting” for her recent remarks tying poverty and unemployment to the recent spike in crime in New York City, according to The Hill.

AOC reportedly told Yoho he was being “rude.” He allegedly retorted: “f—ing bitch.”

AOC wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “I never spoke to Rep. Yoho before he decided to accost me on the steps of the nation’s Capitol yesterday. Believe it or not, I usually get along fine w/ my GOP colleagues. We know how to check our legislative sparring at the committee door. But hey, ‘b*tches’ get stuff done.”
