#Rays starting Tyler Glasnow on 2 days rest in Game 5 vs. Yankees

While the Yankees turn to Gerrit Cole on three days’ rest, the Rays are doing one better and will start Tyler Glasnow on two days’ rest for Friday’s decisive Game 5 of the ALDS in San Diego.

Luke Voit, who homered in the Yankees’ 5-1 win on Thursday in Game 4 at Petco Park, said he is sure Tampa Bay will use Glasnow as something of an opener and might also turn to Blake Snell in the must-win game.

Gleyber Torres said the Yankees “know” Glasnow.

“He has really good stuff, but we saw him two days ago and a couple of times during the regular season,” Torres said. “We have to continue to do what we do.”

Glasnow gave up four runs in five innings in the Rays’ Game 2 victory.

After Game 4 on Thursday, the right-hander said he felt fine and was “ready to go.” He was available out of the bullpen on Thursday and Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said Friday would be “all hands on deck.”
