Update to R-Type Final 3 due by the end of the year.
Granzella has announced the 2021 roadmap of updates for R-Type Final 2, including the reveal that the game will be updated to R-Type Final 3 by the end of 2021.
Here is the full roadmap:
June to Early July
- Downloadable content “Stage Pass Set 3” release
- R-Aircaft Album
- Improve the usability of R’s Museum
- Add player ships: TP-2S, TP-2M, TP-2H
Early Summer
- Add player ships: Mecha player ships, Dantalion
- Improve the operability of the PC version
- Ranking functions
- Add data: gallery, decals, costumes, aircraft biography
Late Summer
- Add player ships: Bydo series fighters, Ultimate fighters, R-902, new fighters
- Add stages: Branches to different stages will also be added to the first half of the mission.

Fall to End of 2021
