Until last week, ProSieben MAXX showed a total of 51 new episodes of “Boruto” on weekdays at around 6:55 pm. We look back at the performance and compare the odds of the first season …

After 51 more episodes of “Boruto”, the conclusion remains sobering. The series does not manage to match the great ratings of “Naruto Shippuuden” and remains weak. On average, the second season only came up 100,000 spectators (Total audience) and 1,2% MA in the important target group (E 14-49). This means that it remains below the ProSieben MAXX channel average, which is around 1.6%.

At the maximum, “Boruto” achieved a good 2.1% MA during the broadcast of the second season, but unfortunately these are more of an exception. Especially the beginning of the season pulls the performance down. Of the first 8 episodes, 7 remained well below the 1% threshold, three of which were only 0.4% MA. Even if you caught yourself a little afterwards and stayed largely above 1% MA, the odds are weak for the conditions of ProSieben MAXX. In the end, too, one could not really benefit from the strong lead through “One Piece”. While the pirate crew almost consistently gets more than 2% employees with new episodes, “Boruto” continues to stagnate at a weak 1%.

A small ray of hope: Even if the second season remains below expectations, it is still + 0.1% p above the average market share of the first season. The viewing participation was also able to increase somewhat compared to the pre-season.

After episode 102 was broadcast, ProSieben MAXX removed the series for the time being and replaced it with new episodes of “My Hero Academia” (season 3).
