#Lucky Charms is selling their ‘Just Magical Marshmallows’ and leaving out the cereal

For the first time ever, cereal-maker General Mills will sell pouches of Just Magical Marshmallows — the spongy, petite clovers, horseshoes, hearts, unicorns, moons, balloons and stars from the kid-fave breakfast food — at select stores across the country.

The limited-edition 6-ounce packets will feature all eight of the “charms” — and none of the cereal pieces — for $3.99. The product rollout will include “spectacular in the sky” presentations in LA on Aug. 31 and NYC on Sept. 1. Just Magical Marshmallows will then become more widely available to buy at grocery stores in the US next month.

“For a limited time you can say #JustMagicalMarshmallows are mine,” the company posted Monday on Twitter. “The magic will peak in the coming weeks!”

And Lucky Charms fans — who, by the way, include Snoop Dogg — seem to be over-the-rainbow about the news.

“I’ve been waiting all my life for this,” replied one commenter, while another summed things up even more succinctly with, “Omg I need it.”

“Lucky Charms is the only magical marshmallow cereal and I’m so excited to see that families across the country helped bring the magic back,” said Mindy Murray, senior brand experience manager for Lucky Charms, in a statement. “To thank our fans for helping us restore this magic, we’re celebrating the launch of the Just Magical Marshmallows with a spectacle that embodies the magic of Lucky Charms.”

In 2018, General Mills noted that the cereal — which was created in 1964 and features a cheery leprechaun mascot named Lucky on boxes — was still a winner for sugar-loving kids and adults. “People are loving the marshmallows,” said company spokesman Mike Siemienas, to no one’s surprise.

This isn’t the first sweet deal from General Mills. Last year, the company gave away 15,000 boxes of marshmallows-only boxes of Lucky Charms in a promotion.
