#Quarantined NYU students display dismal food options on TikTok

NYU students who are quarantined in their dorm rooms used their favorite social media app to complain about the meals they received on Thursday.

The future scholars — who are paying roughly $80,000 per year for their education — used TikTok to display the dismal food opinions after the school said they must quarantine on arrival.

“Hey, welcome back to, ‘What NYU gives you to eat when you pay them a million dollars!,’” said one student on TikTok, who is a vegetarian and received meat.

The student, however, said she emailed dining services, who assured her their records were corrected to reflect her proper food preference.

Still, she showed off the underwhelming food options that were reminiscent of a grade-school lunch.

A few slabs of chicken to go along with a hoagie roll and a small side of dressing were given for a DIY sandwich.

For sides, there was an apple, orange, some carrots, graham crackers and a cheese stick.

The meal mishaps exploited by the social media savvy scholars even prompted the university to give out $100 gift cards for certain food delivery options.

“We’re committed to improving things promptly, and we regret that things didn’t go as well as we had planned from the outset,” read part of the school’s statement, which was posted to social media.

At least two students wrote on TikTok that they never received breakfast or lunch.

One of the two was then delivered all three meals at dinner time. The breakfast consisted of cereal without milk and a container of warm orange juice.

For the other meals, the student showed off watermelon salad and watermelon salad with chicken.

“I’m gonna be SKINNY #nyu #quarantine #Freshman -15” the student jokingly wrote in the TikTok caption.

NYU on Wednesday began welcoming back international students and those from state-designated coronavirus hot-spots. The students are required to quarantine for 14-days before those from the tri-state area arrive.
