“#Quake Coming to Next-Gen with Upgrades and More!”
Quake, the first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, is now coming to consoles and PC with upgrades. The announcement was made at QuakeCon 2021 that a remake of the original Quake is arriving in Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS 4, and PC. It is also going to be made available in the Xbox Game Pass, while enhanced native editions for the PS 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available soon as a free upgrade.

People who own Quake on Bethesda.net or Steam already will be receiving a free upgrade as well. The Remastered versions are available for purchase already on the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop! Get out there and grab your copy, people!
The enhancements to the game include 4K resolution outputs, “enhanced models, dynamic and color lighting, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and the original soundtrack and theme song by Trent Reznor.”

4 Player Co-Op

The entire game is a co-op with 4 players, online or local with split screens. There will also be Cross-play support for all platforms. The multiplayer mode will allow 8 players in online sessions and 4 players locally.

There is also a brand-new expansion by MachineGames, Dimension of the Machine. Dimension of the Past, MachineGames’ 20^th Anniversary expansion, will also be in the Remastered version.
Quake is considered to be the first arena shooter that led to a generation of games. Some even call it the forefather of arena shooters. Although the Quake series has been absent from the gaming scene for a few years, it has a cult fanbase that originated with the first game’s release in 1997; the new release is definitely going to excite fans.
Quake II and Quake III will also be available on the Game Pass along with several other Bethesda titles.
