#PUBG Mobile Made Almost $300 Million In July, According To Reports
July 2021 has been a good month for PUBG Mobile. According to a report published by Sensor Tower, a data analytics company, PUBG Mobile reached a whopping $300 million mark; becoming July 2020’s highest-grossing mobile game globally. This revenue indicates a growth of 26.7 percent since July 2020. The launch of a new season along with a Royale Pass in July has mostly stimulated this growth.

One can see that the biggest chunk of this amount came from PUBG Mobile’s Chinese remake named Peacekeeper Elite or more popularly known as Game for Peace. This game solely had accounted for 68.4 percent of the total revenue. Only a mere 6.7 percent accounted for the United States and 6 percent from Turkey.

Top-grossing Game – Apple’s App Store

  • According to this report, PUBG Mobile topped the charts to assume the position of the top-grossing game on Apple’s App Store, but on Google Play Store it was placed seventh in revenue.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile

  • Last month, a mobile MOBA developed by Tencent that was tailor-made for China, called the Honor of Kings, became the second-highest-grossing mobile game. It had almost made around $231.2 million and it has 94.7 percent of the total revenue from China. Other games that made it to the chart of top five are MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact, Niantic’s Pokémon Go, and Roblox.
  • Sensor Tower is only able to track the revenues that come from App Store and Google Play. However, with Google services being blocked in China, Android smartphones users in China resort to using third-party stores in order to download and make in-game purchases. As such, this tends to fluctuate the real numbers and the actual earning of such games is most likely to be a tad bit higher.
