We say: That was Psaki’s huffy response when asked about the leaked July 23 phone call between her boss and Ashraf Ghani, in which President Biden told the then-president of Afghanistan to lie about the Taliban’s growing success. She reacted very differently when President Donald Trump’s conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky leaked and led to impeachment, tweeting in 2019, “It is not just the call transcript. The whistleblower complaint would likely have more details. We need both.”

We say: CNN’s Chris Cillizza declares history books will judge the “defining trait” of Trump’s “turbulent four years in office” to be “his assault on truth” and “the role a nonpartisan media plays in society,” citing Pew’s finding that the chunk of Republicans with some trust in national news organizations nose­dived from 70 percent in 2016 to 35 percent now. Cillizza’s analysis contains not a whit of self-awareness as he blames Trump for the shift — and not a nowhere-near-nonpartisan media that, to give just one example, openly suppressed The Post’s Hunter Biden reporting while his doddering dad ran for election.
