#PS5: Sony Opens PS App Beta Testing For Screenshot Sharing
For those who don’t know, the PlayStation App is a software application for iOS and Android devices developed by PlayStation Mobile Inc. It was released about 7 years ago in November 2013 and ever since then, it has got a bunch of cool updates. However, the last big update which featured some big changes was in October 2020. Ever since then it hasn’t received any major changes or additions. But that was until now as the Beta Testing for the new update has begun now.

Update Features Screenshot Sharing

Sony PlayStation is launching a limited beta update for the PlayStation App on certain mobile devices. The beta testing is not available to everyone though, and as of now, it’s available in just Japan and Canada. Also, the testing is limited to iOS devices as of now but obviously, the update will be arriving on Android too really soon.

“A limited-release beta enabling PS5 players in Canada and Japan to share their captured screenshots and game clips through PlayStation App is starting to roll out today,” tweeted @PlayStationCA

The update will let PS5 users upload screenshots and video captures, which can then be viewed and shared through the app. Basically, your linked PS5 will automatically upload screenshots and videos saved to your console. These saves will stay on the cloud for 14 days after being uploaded. So, you can do whatever you want with them through the app, till the time they are on the cloud. You can now choose to download them to your mobile device and share them with friends or on social media.

There is only one catch, which is that there is a limitation on video capture. The gameplay videos that you choose to record should be under three minutes in length in order to be uploaded. Also, they shouldn’t be captured in 4K if you want them to get uploaded on the App’s cloud.
