#Princess Principal Comes to Southeast Asia on August 23

Ani-One Asia has announced that it will be uploading the 2017 anime series Princess Principal for Southeast Asia starting August 23. Episodes will be updated daily at 1:00 PM (GMT+8). The anime first premiered in Japan in 2017, while it was available in Southeast Asia via Animax in 2018.

Directed by Masaki Tachibana (Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle, Barakamon) at Studio 3Hz and Actas, the anime includes Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Sk8 the Infinity) as series composer and scriptwriter, Yukie Akiya (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online) as character designer and co-chief animation director, Miho Sugiura (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) as art director, and Yuki Kajiura (Fate/Zero, The Case Study of Vanitas, Sword Art Online series) as music composer.

The cast includes Akari Kageyama as Beatrice, Akira Sekine as Princess, Ayaka Imamura as Ange, Nozomi Furuki as Chise, and Yō Taichi as Dorothy.

Sentai Filmworks describes the series as:

At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen’s Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. Under the guise of regular high school girls, they act as spies under cover. Disguise, reconnaissance, infiltration, car chases… Each girl uses their own set of special skills to dart around the world of shadow.

The sequel, titled Princess Principal: Crown Handler, will have a series of six movies produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas with the same staff. The original cast will also reprise their roles, with the exception of Ayaka Imamura (Ange), who has since retired in 2018 due to health concerns. Aoi Koga has since taken over the role of Ange.

The first movie was screened in Japan on February 11, with the second movie slated for release on September 23. The second movie, which received a trailer in July, also recently wrapped up production on August 9.
