“Prima Doll’s Main Trailer Reveals July 8 Premiere”
The upcoming Prima Doll Key anime has released its main trailer, which comes with the announcement of a July 8 Japanese premiere. It was also revealed that the first episode will be streamed in advance on ABEMA on July 3.
A key visual featuring the five main characters was released as well.
The new trailer provides another introduction to the main cast of characters and previews the opening song “Tin Toy Melody” by Chat Noir (which consists of the main voice actors). Unlike the previous trailer from March, the new video offers a look at the more serious side of the show in addition to the light-hearted elements, with snippets of conflict and several moody shots shown.
Aside from the premiere date, it was announced that there will be two manga based on the anime. Prima Doll: New Order, drawn by Yuriko Asami and written by Touya Okano, will be serialized in Dengeki G‘s magazine, while Prima Doll: Youkoso Kuronekotei e~, from Hiroki Toda, will be serialized on Comic Bushiroad Web. Additionally, a drama CD is set to go on sale on November 30 with both a regular and limited edition.
Prima Doll follows five autonomous mechanical dolls, or automata, who work at a coffee shop called Kuronekotei in the corner of the imperial capital’s fifth district. Once used as weapons in a war that concluded several years ago, the automata are now restored and dressed in shiny kimonos as they adapt to the post-war era of peace.

The anime’s staff includes Tenshou (Kin-iro Mosaic, The Fruit of Grisaia) as director. Okano (Kaginado scriptwriter) and Kai (Kaginado scriptwriter) as series composers and scriptwriters, Akane Yano (Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki) as chief animation director and general character designer. Serving as original character designers are Na-Ga, Fuzichoco, Yui Hara, En Morikura, and lack respectively.
Other staff include Makoto Ishiwata (Obsolete mechanical designer) as original mechanical designer and Miyake Masakazu (Sabikui Bisco) as art director. VISUAL ARTS and Key are credited with the original concept, while Bibury Animation Studios is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the main cast includes Azumi Waki as Haizakura, Tomori Kusonoki as Karasuba, Miyu Tomita as Gekka, Yuki Nakashima as Houkiboshi, Akari Kitou as Retzel, Ayumu Murase as Nagi Toma, Misaki Kuno as Chiyo, and Ayaka Suwa as Otome Okunomiya.
