Months after getting an indefinite delay in April, the Technoroid Overmind anime now has a Japanese premiere date of January 2023. A key visual, manga adaptation, and new cast information were revealed with the announcement.

The newly revealed cast members are Mutsumi Tamura as the young genius Esora Shibaura, Asami Seto as the assistant AI Eliza, Daiki Hamano as the android Bora, Kenji Nojima as the mysterious android and choreographer Nobel, and Takuya Kirimoto as Esora’s adoptive father and influential robot engineering figure Hakushu.

Esora, Bora, and Nobel are shown in the new visual together with the KnoCC and STAND-ALONE group members.

As for the manga, it is drawn by Ageha Saotome and will begin serialization on AlphaPolis next January.

Technoroid Overmind was originally meant to premiere in July this year. The anime takes place in a climate change-affected setting, where the ruling World Government recommends the use of robots and androids for labor due to rising temperatures. The setting also features an entertainment tower called Babel, which offers among other attractions the Climbing Stage, where participants battle to reach the top through song and dance. 

The main characters of the story are the androids Cobalt (Kazuki Ura), Chrom (Satoi Shibuya), Kei (Hiromu Mineta), and Neon (kayto), who spend their days going through the same routine in an abandoned and forgotten house, unsure of why they are there or why they were created in the first place. However, things change after a chance encounter with a certain boy, and the four find themselves forming the group KnoCC and aiming to dethrone Babel’s champion, STAND-ALONE.

Technoroid Overmind is directed by Im Ga-Hee (Sonny Boy episode director, Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island assistant director). Other staff include Ai Yoshimura (Ao Haru Ride director) as supervisor, Ayumi Sekine (The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window) as series composer, illustrator LAM as original character designer, Saori Sakiguchi (number24) as character designer, Elements Garden×RUCCA as music composers, and LOGIC&MAGIC as the CG company. Doga Kobo is the animation production company.

Technoroid Overmind is part of the Technoroid mixed-media project, which includes mobile game titled Technoroid: Unison Heart that was launched on January 21 this year. Several music CDs and goods have been released as well.
