CBS was unable to air the entire first quarter of the Miami Dolphins’ home opener against the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon due to technical difficulties at Hard Rock Stadium.

A CBS spokeswoman told USA Today that a power outage in a quadrant of the stadium caused the disruption. After the broadcast returned, the two teams entered into a lightning delay two plays into the third quarter.

“I’m wondering if they didn’t pay the electric bill down there in Miami,” joked Rich Gannon, who was calling the Pittsburgh Steelers-Denver Broncos game, which CBS cut to following the outage.

The feed did return in the second quarter after about 20 minutes, just as the Dolphins were punting away to Buffalo.

Aside from the near 13,000 people in attendance in Miami, fans across South Florida missed star wide receiver DeVante Parker bring down a touchdown at the end of the first and rookie cornerback Noah Igbinoghene recover a fumble. But Bills receiver Stefon Diggs caught a touchdown to put Buffalo ahead by seven in the second.
