Two Portland police officers were injured when rioters shot commercial-grade fireworks at them Sunday night, according to cops.

The officers were struck around 10 p.m., as protesters tried to take over the Portland Police Association office, prompting cops to declare a riot for the second night in a row.

One officer suffered burns to her neck and had her face mask partially melted, while a piece of the firework injured the other officer’s leg, Portland police said.

Sixteen people were arrested on charges ranging from interfering with a peace officer to disorderly conduct.

Earlier in the night, about 200 protesters gathered at a park for the march to the police union building about a half-mile away, with one declaring through a megaphone, “Tonight we will be civilly disobedient. And there’s nothing peaceful about the protest,” KOIN reported.

They then tried barricading the street with fencing and dumpsters and lit a dumpster on fire during the march. At one point after a riot was declared, they tossed eggs at cops.

A similar scene played out Saturday night when the anti-cop demonstrators broke through the PPA office and lit a fire inside the building.
