The release of “Pompo: The Cinéphile” is getting closer and a German trailer has now been released.

In the summer, KSM Anime announced the license “Pompo: The Cinephile” known (we reported). With a little delay, the anime film becomes a celebration of cinema on December 8, 2022 in German appear. «Pompo: The Cinéphile» was directed by Takayuki Hirao in the studio CLAP. The manga series of the same name by Shogo Sugitani, which has been published in Japan since 2017, served as a template. The 90-minute anime film was released in Japanese cinemas in June 2021 after the start had to be postponed several times due to the corona pandemic. The film celebrated its German premiere at the Akiba Pass Festival 2022 under peppermint anime.

They’re all trashy B movies, with lots of nudity, action and explosions. Pompo’s personal assistant, the nervous-neurotic Gene, takes a completely different approach: cinema is art and must enchant! Pompo is skeptical but gets carried away by Gene’s fascination and hires him to direct her next screenplay. And so Gene embarks on an adventure to combine art and commerce, not to overstretch his tight budget and finally: to finish on time! Will Gene’s film debut succeed and maybe even become a success?
