Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date Confirmed: October 16, 2025

The Pokémon Company has announced that the new installment of the Pokémon Legends series, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, will release worldwide on October 16, 2025. It also announced that there will be a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, featuring improved graphics and frame rates.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A physical and digital versions can also be upgraded to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition from the Nintendo Switch by purchasing an upgrade pack. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can also be played on the Nintendo Switch, with the exception of content that rely on the Switch 2’s upgraded specs.
The Pokémon Company has also announced that the next “Pokémon Presents” is set to air on July 22nd at 23:00 JST/ 6:00 AM PST. The presentation will showcase the latest updates on games, the trading card game (TCG), and anime. More information on Pokémon Legends: A-Z in the next Pokémon Presents may be announced.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the second installment in the Legend Series of the game. It was first announced in February 2024 during the Pokémon Presents before fully debuting with a gameplay trailer in this year’s Pokémon Presents in February 2025. The game is set years before X and Y in Luminose City in the Kalos region, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway. It also marks the return of Mega Evolution.
