Pocky & Rocky Reshrined

The grand return of action-shooter series Kiki Kaikai, also known as Pocky & Rocky, is on the way to the west this spring as Pocky & Rocky Reshrined. While we wait for a more concrete release date for the localization, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine has a feature on the game, which Natsume Atari has lined up for an April 21 launch on PS4 and Switch in Japan.

In addition to taking a look at the game’s characters, which were illustrated by Yoshitoo Asari, the Famitsu feature will offer a peek at new gameplay modes when it hits stands in Japan on January 13.

Here’s how Natsume describes Pocky & Rocky Reshrined:

Pocky & Rocky follows the adventures of a young Shinto shrine maiden named Pocky and her companion, Rocky the raccoon, as they attempt to save a group of creatures known as the Nopino Goblins. Gameplay takes place from a top-down perspective and features both single-player and cooperative modes.

Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is a sequel to Pocky & Rocky, known in Japan as the action-shooting game series Kiki Kaikai, which first appeared as an arcade game from Taito Corporation in 1986 and is being developed under license from Taito Corporation.
