#“The Boy and the Heron”: theatrical release postponed & German poster

There are new release dates for the new Ghibli film “The Boy and the Heron” and you can see the first German poster here!

Last week we just found out about the German cinema release of “The Boy and the Heron” (we reported). The new film by Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki would have been shown on German screens very soon.

Shortly after the report, the German distributor Central Film removed the release of the film on January 9, 2024 from the website. Now it has been announced through the Association of Film Distributors that the film in Germany received a new start date. The film was on postponed to January 4, 2024 and will therefore be seen in this country even sooner.

There is a similar change in Austriawhere the rental company Polyfilm “The Boy and the Heron” nun also on January 4, 2024 want to start. The first previews will be shown in Austria from December 31, 2023 and an Anime Night is planned for Tuesday, January 2, 2024. It is not known whether an Anime Night is planned in cinemas in Germany on the same day.

The German-Swiss The cinema release is still with the 23. November 2023 dated. In cooperation with The Ones We Love and OutNow, the Swiss distributor Frenetic Films is showing the film under the title “The Boy and the Heron” in previews on November 19th and 22nd, 2023.

The Austrian distributor Polyfilm now has this first German posters published with the German title. In Switzerland, the international English title should be read instead of the German title.
