“Blue Period Teams up With Fashion Brand Burberry for a Chic Collab”

Blue Period

It’s one thing for the characters of Blue Period to be super stylish, it’s another for those characters to feature in a campaign with worldwide fashion brand Burberry. Announced today and beginning August 20, the world of Blue Period will be mixing with Burberry, bringing the characters together with the brand and delivering some new stories set in the world of the manga from creator Tsubasa Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi will be creating a new story set in the world of Blue Period about a brand new character named Lola that both Yatora and Ayukawa come across one day and get influenced by their style. Lola the character is inspired by the bags of the same name that are made by the fashion company. The original story will be given out physically in Japanese Burberry stores across Japan as well as a version digitally on Burberry’s website from August 20.

The Blue Period manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since June 2017, with its English language edition having been published by Kodansha USA since October 2020. Here’s the official synopsis from Kondansha:

Yatora is the perfect high school student, with good grades and lots of friends. It’s an effortless performance, and, ultimately…a dull one. But he wanders into the art room one day, and a lone painting captures his eye, awakening him to a kind of beauty he never knew. Compelled and consumed, he dives in headfirst — and he’s about to learn how savage and unforgiving art can be!

The anime adaptation of Blue Period aired between October 2, 2021, and December 18, 2021, with Netflix streaming the series worldwide after a few weeks.
