“#Patlabor 30th Anniversary Exhibition Hits Ibaraki Prefecture in January”
Having previously featured installations in Tokyo, Aichi, and Niigata, the Patlabor 30th anniversary art exhibition is heading to Ibaraki Prefecture in January of 2022 with a new collection focusing on Patlabor: The TV Series, Patlabor: The New Files, and Patlabor 2: The Movie.
The latest installation features some 150 works of art, including animation cells, movie posters, and original illustrations by Patlabor character designer Akemi Takada. It also features a 1.2 meter (about 4 feet) tall model of the Griffon, the renegade Labor from the TV series, created by sculptor Hideki Kawabata and an augmented reality audio guide narrated in-character by Noa Izumi (CV: Miina Tominaga) and Shinobu Nagumo (CV: Yoshiko Sakakibara).
The exhibition runs from January 14 – February 13, 2022, at the Tsuchiura City Public Gallery venue in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Tickets to the exhbition cost 1000 yen (about $8.69 US) for adult admissions and 500 yen (about $4.34 US) for students, children, and people with disabilities. Purchasing online tickets in advance is required for the opening on the 14th, on weekends, and on holidays.
