#Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura Go on the Run in Tense ‘Dope Thief’ Trailer

Brian Tyree Henry and Narcos alum Wagner Moura are forced to run for their lives after robbing the wrong country house in the latest trailer for Apple’s drug ring drama Dope Thief, which dropped on Tuesday.

Their petty thief characters in Philadelphia posed as DEA agents to rob smalltime drug dealers, only to become targets of a massive and deadly narcotics enterprise. Having knocked on the wrong door, the duo unwittingly reveal and unravel one of the biggest hidden narcotics corridors on the Eastern seaboard.

“These guys are going to come after us, man,” Manny Cespedes (Moura) tells Henry’s character, Ray Driscoll, at one point in the high octane trailer for the eight-part drama. The crime series is created and executive produced by Peter Craig, with Ridley Scott  also executive producing and directing the first episode as part of a first look deal between his banner, Scott Free, and Apple Studios.

The ensemble cast for Dope Thief includes Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames. Oscar nominee Henry is also executive producing. Moura earlier replaced Better Call Saul alum Michael Mando in the role of Manny Cespedes.

The first two episodes of Dope Thief will drop on Apple TV+ on March 14, followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25. The drug ring drama is based on Dennis Tafoya’s book Dope Thief and was earlier titled Sinking Spring.

The series is also executive produced by David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley.
