The results will be announced on September 15 at 1 AM JST, with the payment period for the tickets being from the time of announcement to September 19 at 9 PM JST. OSHI NO KO ran from April to June with 11 episodes (including an extended 90-minute premiere), with a second season announced after the end of the series. Some of the platforms that streamed the show include HIDIVE, Bilibili, Netflix, and iQIYI. A series of behind-the-scenes videos were released on YouTube during the first season’s broadcast period.

The anime is based on the Shueisha-published manga written by Aka Akasaka and drawn by Mengo Yokoyari, which began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2020 and has 12 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. Yen Press describes the manga as:

Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).

OSHI NO KO was directed by Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection ProjectAsteroid in Love) with Ciao Nekotomi (Love Is Like a Cocktail director [as Saori Tachibana], Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie opening director and storyboard artist) as assistant director, Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend) as character designer and chief character designer, and Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Laid-Back Camp) as series composer. Doga Kobo produced the show.
