Nicki ignited a firestorm of controversy earlier this week after tweeting she needed to do more “research” before she would agree to get the COVID-19 vaccine. As she addressed comments from the peanut gallery, Nicki then claimed her cousin’s friend became impotent after taking the vaccine. She also said his testicles became swollen, and he was forced to cancel his impending wedding.

Naturally, her tweets became fodder for late night television shows and led to seemingly endless memes. But now, the Trinidadian government has stepped in to do a little investigating and has discovered no such case of “swollen testicles” has been reported on the island.
During a televised update on Wednesday (September 15), health officials of the Caribbean island said they had exhausted their resources trying to substantiate Nicki’s claims, spending most of Tuesday (September 15) trying to determine if such a case existed.
“As we stand now, there is absolutely no reported such side effect or adverse event of testicular swelling in Trinidad,” Trinidad and Tobago Health Minister Dr. Terrence Deyalsingh said. “Unfortunately, we wasted so much time yesterday running down this false claim.”
Health officials in the United Kingdom also criticized Nicki Minaj for contributing to the growing vaccine hesitancy that has stalled global efforts to immunize enough people to achieve herd immunity.
Furthermore, Chief White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci gave a “resounding no” to CNN when asked if any of the U.S.-approved vaccines affected fertility in men or women. “There is no evidence that it happens, nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen, so the answer to your question is no,” Fauci said.
Nicki was offered a phone call with the White House so she could get first-hand information on how the vaccine works. On Wednesday (September 15), Nicki responded to the offer, although she appeared to think she got an actual invite to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

According to CNN’s Don Lemon, the was confusion surrounding the invite.
A source tells CNN that @NICKIMINAJ was offered a conversation with a doctor to clarify the efficacy and side effects of the vaccine not a visit to the White House,” he clarified on Twitter. “A White House statement is coming shortly.”
Nicki Minaj was temporarily put in “Twitter jail” for the debacle and she’s vowed to never tweet again. But, we’ll see how long that lasts.
