The new Urusei Yatsura anime adaptation and Japanese apparel brand Onitsuka Tiger are working together for a special collaboration that includes a pair of DELECITY shoes inspired by Lum’s tiger-striped outfit.

Described as having a chunky upper with a lightweight sole, the 26,400 yen (~US$176.10, tax-included) Urusei Yatsura DELECITY shoes will be available in 15 countries. There are only 700 pairs.

Aside from the shoes, the collaboration also features a 24,200 yen (~US$161.43, tax-included) sweat top that has Lum and Ataru on the front and a 8,800 yen (~US$58.70, tax-included) tote bag with a visual of Lum. These will only be sold in Japan.

All of the collaboration projects will be available for purchase on Onitsuka Tiger’s webstore from October 29 at 11 AM JST and at participating Onitsuka Tiger retail stores in Japan from the same date. The products’ descriptions say that the physical shops will use a lottery system due to their limited quantity, and that this may change in the event of congestion. Furthermore, each customer can only buy up to one of each item.

An anime short for the collaboration was also released. The video features Lum and Ataru shopping at an Onitsuka Tiger store, where Ataru’s flirting with an android store assistant leads to him getting chased by an incensed Lum. The tiger-striped DELECITY shoes are spotlighted in the video.
