#JJ Redick, Meyers Leonard at center of NBA bubble’s beer-slamming competition

Competition has already started in the NBA bubble, as players arrived in Orlando ahead of the league’s planned restart. So far, however, it’s been booze more than basketball driving players’ competitive spirits.

Pelicans guard JJ Redick posted a video of himself “shotgunning” a Bud Light while sitting in an ice bath after practice.

“Sorry meant to post this earlier. Multitasking post practice,” Redick captioned the tweet.

He’ll have plenty of rivals for fastest time in the bubble, however.

Heat center Meyers Leonard proclaimed himself the “king of the bubble” in terms of chugging beer. Upon arrival in Orlando, Leonard posted his own shotgunning video, instead opting to drink a Coors Light. Leonard challenged his NBA colleagues to beat his time, and seemingly got his first challenger in Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson.

Leonard’s debut performance was strong, but he still sees room for improvement.

“And… I messed up the beer crack too,” Leonard tweeted Sunday. “Slowed me down. And lastly… yes I drank every drop.”
