Rising Nigerian pop star Omah Lay shared the cinematic visuals for his latest single “Understand” on Friday. The single marks his first release of 2021. “I enter rain ‘coz I give you umbrella / I thought we in this together,” Omah sings over the track’s bouncy, Afrobeats production.
Shot in Ghana, the clip finds the singer-songwriter embroiled in a tense standoff surrounded by armed men, jumping between these moments and flashbacks of the love he seems keen to protect.
Most recently, Omah Lay dropped two EPs, Get Layd and What Have We Done, back in 2020.
