#Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Sour’ shows she’s more than ‘Drivers License’

Is there more to Olivia Rodrigo than “Drivers License”?

The “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” star came out firing on all cylinders with her debut single, the No. 1 hit “Drivers License.” The social media drama song of 2021 was rumored to be about her being on the losing side of a love triangle with her co-star Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter — allegedly “that blond girl who always made me doubt.”

I mean, when “Saturday Night Live” does an entire skit about your breakup ballad — which is what happened when “Bridgerton” stud Regé-Jean Page hosted the show in February — you have most definitely reached pop-cultural mass.

But when you start out with such a smash, you might think that the only way to go would be down for Rodgrio.

Can you say one-hit wonder?

However, the 18-year-old pop divette — who wisely took her time between releasing “Drivers License” in January and dropping her debut album “Sour,” out now — is the real deal. Many fans seem to agree, calling the record “relatable” and “fire” and “a hug from a loved one.”

Think a Billie Eilish for more basic girls.

Here are five highlights that prove the “Drivers License” singer has miles to go in her career.

1. “Brutal”

The opening track is a guitar-charged rave-up, with Rodrigo letting you in on all of her teenage angst: “I’m so insecure/I think that I’ll die before I drink/And I’m so caught up in the news/Of who likes me and who hates you.”

2. “Traitor”

One of the most Eilish-esque tracks on “Sour,” this moody moment plays like a “Drivers License” sequel, with a brokenhearted Rodrigo aching in all the right ways.

3. “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back”

This piano ballad is the sweetest of melancholy, with Rodrigo capturing just how it feels to be your average 18-year-old girl rather than the star that she is.

4. “Deja Vu”

Rodrigo lets the bitter slip into the sweet on yet another breakup song, on which she lets her ex know that his new girlfriend is only getting her leftovers when they’re “watching reruns of ‘Glee.’ ”

5. “Good 4 U”

While Rodgrio is in bummed-out mode for much of “Sour,” it’s good to hear her cut loose here like a punk-pop princess with Avril-like attitude.
