#NYC woman hit by stray bullet in possible first shooting of 2021

A 33-year-old Brooklyn woman was struck by a stray bullet as she lay in her bed minutes after midnight Friday — possibly the first shooting of the new year, authorities said.

The victim was in bed on the second floor of the building on Lincoln Avenue near Sutter Avenue in Ozone Park at 12:07 a.m. when bullets flew through her window, striking her in the leg, cops said.

The woman, who was not believed to be the intended target, was taken to Brookdale University Medical Center in stable condition.

The city’s first homicide of 2021 came around 1:10 a.m., when a 20-year-old man was killed, a 40-year-old man critically hurt and a third man, also 20, left with non-life-threatening injuries during a gathering outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens.

A 24-year-old man was shot minutes before the new year, at 11:57 p.m., as he got into a car at West 162nd Street and Riverside Drive in Washington Heights.

The victim, who reported hearing shots and feeling pain, drove himself to Columbia University Irving Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the left arm.

He is listed in stable condition. It was unclear whether he was the intended target.
