#NYC teen arrested in connection with fatal shooting of Jaden Turnage

A teenager was arrested for the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Brooklyn in September, the NYPD announced Friday.

The 16-year-old suspect, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon in connection with the Sept. 29 killing of Jaden Turnage, cops said.

He is the second teen to face charges for the murder.

Aramis Gonzales, a homeless 18-year-old, was busted on Sept. 30 and also charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The suspects allegedly chased Turnage before shooting him in the chest on Monroe Street near Franklin Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police and sources have said. He was taken to Brooklyn hospital but couldn’t be saved.

The teen was one of 21 children between the ages of 10 and 17 killed due to street violence in the first nine months of 2020 — a major uptick from the previous two years, The Post reported last month.

His uncle, Antonio Turnage, 42, had called on authorities to “do better” in the aftermath of his nephew’s tragic death.

“There aren’t enough resources, especially in low-income neighborhoods, so they are out in the streets joining gangs, shootings,” Turnage told The Post last month.

“We need more resources for these kids because they don’t seem to care about life, their life or anybody’s life,” he said.

“We are losing our kids out here. They are supposed to be the future. How can they be the future if they are dying? You don’t bury the youth, we aren’t supposed to do that, that’s not how it’s supposed to work.”
