“NYC Mayor Adams Defends Officers Procedures A Judge Slammed In Rapper C-Blu Shooting Case”
“I don’t believe those officers broke the law,” Adams said. “We will never say breaking the law is a way of enforcing the law, but those officers that put their lives on the line to remove illegal guns off the street should not be demonized.”
Justice Naita Sema transferred C-Blu’s — born Camrin Williams — case from adult court to family court after finding the NYPD recall of the events to be “unreliable” and “self-serving” as she believes that the cops illegally searched Williams.
“There was absolutely zero reason for any of those officers to approach this individual,” Judge Semaj reportedly said. “They approached him, they detained him, they searched him, and no officer even bothered to come up with a halfway legitimate reason for any of that.”
C-Blu — born Camrin Williams — was arrested on January 18 following a skirmish with police after they responded to a call of public unrest in The Bronx. Police alleged that Williams shot officer Kaseem Pennant while being searched. A single bullet hit Pennant in the groin and he has since recovered from his injuries.
The 16-year-old rapper used the $250,000 advance from his deal with Interscope Records to post bail nine days after the arrest. C-Blu is also a Kay Flock associate and he released his most famous single “No Ozone Pt. 2” on streaming services on March 6.
