#NYC man shot dead outside Williamsburg subway in rush hour

A man was shot dead right outside a busy subway station in Brooklyn’s trendy Williamsburg neighborhood during Thursday night rush hour, police said.

Augustin Santiago, 34, was shot in the chest just before 6 p.m. near the Marcy Avenue station in Williamsburg, according to cops.

The victim was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting, which occurred at the bottom of the Brooklyn-bound subway stop steps, is being described as “drug-related,” police sources said.

Police said no arrests have been made and the probe into the shooting is ongoing.

The fatal Williamsburg shooting came just 40 minutes before another man was gunned down and two others were injured in a separate incident in Brooklyn’s Canarsie neighborhood.

Aaron Vincent, 28, suffered a gunshot wound to the throat near East 80th Street and Flatlands Avenue at about 6.30 p.m, the NYPD said.

He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, cops said.

Police said the two other victims took themselves to the same hospital after being shot, and both are in stable condition.

A 32-year-old man was shot in his upper right arm and a 38-year-old male was shot in his right foot suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot, according to cops.

No arrests were immediately made in that shooting.

Police sources said the surviving victims are not cooperating with investigators.

The brazen peak hour gun crime comes amid a surge in Big Apple shootings.

So far this year, there have been 1,476 shootings, 33 more than the same time last year — but double that of 2019, NYPD data shows.

Murders, which as of Sunday stood at 446 on the year versus 440 last year, were up 45 percent compared to two years ago pre-pandemic.
