#NYC man Alberto Revilla says his home was burglarized after FDNY broke his lock

A Bronx man said his apartment was burglarized after firefighters broke down his door to fight a fatal fire that killed a 6-year-old neighbor and his dog Friday.

The flames broke out at NYCHA’s Mitchel Houses in Mott Haven around 5:20 p.m., leaving young Aiden Hayward dead, his 32-year-old father in critical condition, and 10 others with minor injuries.

Alberto Revilla, 38, who lives on the same floor of 303 East 135th St. as Hayward, told The Post he left his dog Loki in his apartment before the fire took hold, and went out to get food.

When he was allowed back into the building, he found Loki dead on the floor and discovered that his lock had been busted by the FDNY, he said.

The Red Cross put Revilla up in a hotel, but before he could check in, he was alerted that his home was being burglarized and viewed security footage shot inside his apartment from his phone, he said.

“The Red Cross gave us a room. This was 11.41 p.m.,” Revilla explained.

Revilla witnessed two individuals inside of his apartment while he waited to re-enter the building on surveillance footage.

“I was around the corner on my way to the hotel when I saw it [the burglary] on my phone … I showed it to the officers. I showed them the live feed.

“I said, ‘Let’s go, let’s go now.’ They hesitated,” Revilla said. “They said it was impossible because there were officers on the floor but there wasn’t. Eventually they went upstairs but the perp was gone.”

The crook was able to get into the apartment because the door was busted, Revilla and police told The Post.

“They took electronics, my wife’s wedding rings, my daughter’s iPad, Nintendo Switch,” the crying man said.

“I lost my dog, I lost my valuables, I lost my apartment; everything that makes up my family.”

Police confirmed that they were looking for a burglar who took electronics and jewelry from the home. An NYPD spokesperson said the victim would have to address concerns about the investigation to the detective squad in the precinct.

“This is disgraceful.  How is that possible? We don’t know what to do,” an emotional Revilla lamented.
