#NYC deli patron fatally stabs worker during dispute: cops

An East Harlem deli customer fatally stabbed a worker during a heated argument that spilled outside the store, authorities said.

The 34-year-old employee was involved in a squabble with a male customer at the corner store on Second Avenue near East 102nd Street around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

The dispute continued outside the shop — where the patron stabbed him in the torso with an unknown object, cops said.

Then the assailant ran off, heading east on East 102nd Street.

Responding police found the victim outside the store with a stab wound to his torso. He was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police were initially notified of a robbery in progress at the store, but it was unclear Wednesday morning whether the suspect had stolen anything.

No arrests were immediately made, and the investigation is ongoing.

By Wednesday morning, the victim’s name had not been released, pending family notification.
