#Travis Kelce Says Chiefs Used ’90s Arcade Game Move to Beat Ravens

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce love mentioning the ’90s.

While Swift, 34, once sang that she comes “back stronger than a ’90s trend,” her NFL boyfriend Kelce, also 34, has now talked about ’90s arcade games on the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast.

On the newest podcast episode, Travis and Jason, 36, reminisced about playing games such as Backyard Baseball, Backyard Football, NBA Jam and NFL Blitz when they were kids.

Elaborating on the legacy of NFL Blitz, Travis jokingly said one specific move helped the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens, 17-10, during the AFC Championship game on Jan. 28.

“If you tell a male from the ’90s, ‘Run Da Bomb,’ they know exactly what you’re talking about,” Travis said 83 minutes into the episode. “It’s what we ran to f—ing win the game against the Ravens to throw it up to Marquez [Valdes-Scantling]. We ran Da Bomb. It’s the greatest play ever invented.”

That catch helped the Chiefs clinch their spot in the Super Bowl. After the Ravens game, Kelce found Swift on the field and kissed her.

Meanwhile, Jason, who described NFL Blitz as “arguably the greatest arcade game ever created,” talked more about Da Bomb’s lasting impact.

“I really think it revolutionized the NFL passing game,” he said. “There was one play everybody picked, and it was called the bomb. It’s what everybody in the NFL runs now.”

The brothers also reminisced about using moves like turbo and manual jukes while playing NFL Blitz at Uptown Lounge in Kansas City as adults.

“Nobody could f— with us,” Travis added. “It was like we were 10 all over again, beating all of our friends.”

Elsewhere in the episode, they discussed wanting to somehow acquire the Backyard Sports video game franchise.

They also mentioned how Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have made it to their fourth Super Bowl in five years.

This time, the team has had an A-list supporter in Swift. The 12-time Grammy winner has attended 12 Chiefs games since she and Kelce went public with their relationship in September 2023.

The Chiefs have won nine of those games with Swift in attendance.

It’s unknown whether Swift will attend the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas to watch Kelce and the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers, because she has an Eras Tour stop in Tokyo on Feb. 10.

As fans continue to speculate, the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C., issued a statement assuring everyone that it’s possible for Swift to travel from Japan to Las Vegas in time for the game.

“Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins,” the embassy wrote.
