The 18-year-old initially reacted to the news on Monday (May 3), tweeting, “Damn y’all never got hit in a fight before? bruh asked for picture I said no I’m enjoying myself and I get called scary and a bitch. I make sure I take pictures with every fan but some days I just be trying to chill and get disrespected in the process.”
He added, “And I eat punches ask bout me. Imma rush you take what you got to give and resume beating some. Honestly ain’t wanna fight I was just tryna walk the beach.”

After seeing reactions to the incident online, NLE Choppa took to Twitter once again on Tuesday (May 4), but this time saw the funny side of it.
“Y’all laughing bout me getting hit, I’m laughing at me being in the headlock,” he wrote with laughing emojis before posting a screenshot of the moment he was referencing.

Based on various comments within the past year, NLE had been wanting to change his image. In September 2020, he revealed his intentions to spread positivity rather than include words of violence in his music going forward.

NLE Choppa released his new single “Final Warning” on Friday (April 30), with the music video boasting over 7.5 million YouTube views in just five days. On the track, he raps about avoiding internet beef with lyrics like, “Never send a threat on the internet just to prove a point/That dissin’, don’t get into that, we leavin’ that to the informants.”
