#NJ offers free beer to residents who get vaccinated in May

They’ll take a beer and a shot … of Pfizer.

New Jersey residents of legal drinking age who get their first COVID-19 vaccine dose in May can receive a free beer at over a dozen breweries in the state, officials said.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced the program at a Monday press briefing as a way to encourage people 21 and older in the state to get vaccinated.

“Any New Jerseyan who gets their first vaccine dose in the month of May and takes their vaccination card to a participating brewery will receive a free beer,” the governor tweeted.

Thirteen breweries partnered with the state to dish out the free suds.

News of the free booze comes as New Jersey, along with New York and Connecticut, announced Monday that most capacity restrictions on venues including restaurants, offices, churches, museums and theaters will end May 19.
