Nintendo will acquire 100 percent of the shares of game developer SRD, the company announced. The acquisition is expected to close on April 1.

SRD has been closely involved in the development of Nintendo game software for nearly four decades, and has an office inside Nintendo Development Center in Kyoto.

According to Nintendo, the acquisition will serve to strengthen the management base of SRD and secure the availability of software development resources for Nintendo, as well as facilitate an anticipated improvement in software development efficiency.
