Nintendo held a Corporate Management Policy Briefing on September 16, informing investors on where the company currently is (hint: doing very well) and setting expectations to shareholders for the latter part of the year. While most of the information was Nintendo going over its history, one little tidbit on future plans caught my eye.

Nintendo

The Kyoto-video game company discussed the currently in production Super Mario film at Illumination, which is still on track for a 2022 release according to the report. The same paragraph also spoke about how Nintendo is looking to "increase the number of people who have access to [Nintendo] IP" by "continuing to invest in … entertainment expansion initiatives" outside of the already being produced film. What could this mean? A Nintendo-based TV series

In Nintendo's own words, "visual content expansion initiatives may not be limited to film." Sounds like TV shows to me! Maybe a slice-of-life Animal Crossing TV anime? One can only dream.

What kind of "visual content expansion" would you like to see from Nintendo? Let us know down in the comments!
