#NieR’s Yoko Taro Working on ‘Somewhat Unusual’ Game at Square Enix

The launch of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is almost upon us, so it’s time to check in on what Yoko Taro is up to next. As one would expect from the creator, Yoko Taro describes the new project with Square Enix as a “somewhat unusual game” that’s “difficult to explain.” Producer Yosuke Saito added that it feels “nostalgic and new.”  

The new title—which Yoko Taro is working on as creative director—was briefly teased during the first official NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… live stream. While it’s currently lined up as a digital-only release, there may be a special physical edition at some point.
