NFL, union agree to ban joint training camp practices

June 2, 2020 | 11:05pm

The NFL and NFL Players Association agreed to ban increasingly popular joint training camp practices this summer, as first reported by The Post and confirmed in an obtained memo from commissioner Roger Goodell distributed to all 32 teams.

The decision was made to mitigate coronavirus exposure risk by limiting travel and contact between players on different teams. There was talk of possible joint practices between the Giants and Titans leading up to an Aug. 22 preseason game in Nashville, Tenn.

In addition, teams cannot hold off-site training camps, as the Giants and Jets stopped doing years ago by staying at their home facilities.
