Every day brings new signs of the insanity engulfing the city: Among at least eight people shot Monday night into Tuesday was the victim hit at a memorial service for teens killed by senseless gunfire.

Yes: A shooting at a memorial for shooting victims.

The man, 22, was shot in the left shoulder at around 10:30 p.m. outside George Walker Jr. Park in Cypress Hills, police said. After feeling a sudden pain in his shoulder, he was taken by ambulance to Brookdale Hospital, where he was reportedly in stable condition.

He’d been attending a vigil for 16-year-old Kleimer Mendez and 18-year-old Antonio Villa, both killed Sunday when a gunman popped out of the sunroof of a dark-colored Honda SUV and opened fire into the park.

The murder of tiny Davell Gardner so far remains the absolute worst, but the madness takes all too many forms. The only real question is how bad it has to get before the city’s leaders finally reverse course and stop making life easier for the gunmen.
