New Saga TV Anime Reveals Latest Trailer & More Cast, Airs July 2

The official website for the upcoming New Saga TV anime adaptation has revealed a second new trailer, which confirms the addition of two new cast members and premiere in Japan on July 2, 2025.
The trailer also previews the opening theme “Enja” by artist 4s4ki, and the ending theme “her” by Mahiru Coda.
The two new cast joining the series include Hisako Kanemoto as Selaia and Akeno Watanabe as Layla.
They join a previously announced voice cast that stars:

- • Hiro Shimono as Seran
- • Fairouz Ai as Reze
- • Asami Seto as Urza
- • Minami Takahashi as Sildonia.
- • Kaori Maeda as Mileina
- • Hiroki Yasumoto as Zentos
- • Riho Sugiyama as Miranda
- • Rie Hikisaka as Gou
- • Tetsu Inada as Gazas
- • Takehito Koyasu as Ganias
- • Yoko Hikasa as Yulriga
Prior to the series delay that was announced in May 2023, Norikazu Ishigouoka (Hortensia Saga assistant director) was initially the director of the anime adaptation. Sotsu, Makaria, and Yokohama Animation Laboratory were credited as the animation production companies.
The anime is based on the Tsuyokute New Saga light novel series, written by Masayuki Abe and illustrated by Ryuta Fuse. It was first published by AlphaPolis on April 8, 2013 and ended on July 2, 2018. A total of 10 volumes were released during its publication. A manga adaptation by Jun Miura was launched in 2014 and ended in 2022.
Alpha Manga releases the New Saga manga adaptation digitally in English, describing the main synopsis as:
After a grueling battle, the magic knight Kyle finally defeats the demon lord… or so he believes. He wakes up to find himself in the land that had been destroyed in his past life. He is reunited with the precious person he thought he had lost forever. To stop the human world from being destroyed again, along with his friends, Kyle uses his memory from his previous life to once again save the world! A fantasy saga about a brave knight!
