#New police footage shows first complete view of George Floyd’s death

Disturbing new police body cam video captures the final 17 minutes of George Floyd’s life, providing the most complete account yet of his arrest and death at the hands of Minneapolis police.

The uncensored footage, which runs just over 30 minutes, is the first start-to-finish view of the May 25 incident that sparked worldwide outrage.

The video begins and ends at the Cup Foods convenience store in Minneapolis, where Floyd allegedly tried to buy goods with a counterfeit $20 bill, with a store employee seen pointing out Floyd’s SUV across the street.

Thomas Lane, one of four cops fired and later charged in the incident, walks across the street and taps on the SUV window and confronts him.

“Let me see your hands,” Lane, a rookie, said. “Stay in the car. Let me see your other hand. Get your f–king hands up right now.”

“What did we do?” Floyd, 46, replies.

“Put your hand up there,” Lane yells, pulling out his handgun and pointing it at Floyd. “Put your f–king hand up there! Keep you f–king hands on the wheel. f–king hands on the wheel!”

“Please don’t shoot me. Please man,” Floyd sayd. “Please. I’m going to get out now. Please don’t shoot me.”

Police handcuff Floyd and question him, with Floyd continually bemoaning the situation while providing his name and age to the cop.

But he begins to scuffle as the officers take him to a waiting police vehicle outside Cup Foods, repeatedly complaining that he’s claustrophobic.

Cops then push him to the ground with Floyd continually groaning and pleading that he can’t breathe. He stops moving about 16 minutes and 30 seconds into the video.

Derek Chauvin, the former cop now charged with murder in the case, can be seen with his knee pinned to the back of Floyd’s neck for more than three minutes after Floyd stops moving — despite pleas from bystanders.

“He’s not responsive right now, bro,” one man is heard saying. “Yo, check his pulse. The man has not moved.”

Lane then returns to Cup Foods to interview employees, who said “the big guy” passed the phony bill.

Chauvin, 44, Thane, Lane, and Tou Thau were fired the following day and are now awaiting trial.

Footage released earlier this month from body cams worn by Lane and ex-cop Alex Kueng only showed excerpts of the incident.
