A full-length trailer for I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss anime has dropped, providing a preview of the upcoming show’s cast. A key visual was released as well.

More cast members were also announced, with Jun Fukuyama as Keith Eigrid, Yuuki Ono as Belzebuth, Kana Hanazawa as Lilia Rainworth, and Tomokazu Sugita as Almond.

The previously revealed cast members are Rie Takahashi as Aileen Lauren d’Autriche, Yuuichirou Umehara as Claude Jean Ellmeyer, and Toshiki Masuda as Cedric Jean Ellmeyer. 

I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss is set to premiere in Japan in October. It is based on the light novel series written by Sarasa Nagase, illustrated by Mai Murasaki and published under the Kadokawa Beans Bunko label.

Yen Press describes the plot as:

Villains Have Their Own Routes Too!

When her engagement to the prince ends unceremoniously, details of the young noblewoman Aileen’s past life come rushing back and help her realize she’s living inside the world of one of her favorite otome games—as the heroine’s greatest rival! However, her memory has more plot holes than bad fan fiction…and the only certainty is that if she doesn’t do something quick, her death is all but assured. The hero/main-love-interest can’t be relied on, so why not see what the last boss has to say?

The staff includes Kumiko Habara (I’m Standing on a Million Lives) as director, Kenta Ihara (Uncle from Another World) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Momoko Makiuchi (Mashin Hero Wataru: The Seven Spirits no Ryuujinmaru), Eri Kojima (In the Land of Leadale co-character designer), and Yuuko Ooba (I’m Standing on a Million Lives sub-character designer) as character designers. 

Additionally, five of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X’s music composers — Natsumi Tabuchi, Hanae Nakamura, Miki Sakurai, Sayaka Aoki, and Kanade Sakuma — are composing I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss‘s music. MAHO FILM is the animation production studio. 

The I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss light novel series began in 2017 and has nine volumes as of October 2021. A manga adaptation by Anko Yuzu began in 2018. The story was first published as a 2017 web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou.
