#Chainsaw Man’s Ryuu Nakayama Directs VSPO x Cardfight!! Vanguard Collaboration Trailer

A collaboration between the esports-focused VTuber agency VSPO! (Virtual eSports Project) and Bushiroad‘s Cardfight!! Vanguard trading card game has been announced. More details will arrive later, but fans should keep an eye on June 2024’s Vanguard products.

Accompanying the collaboration’s announcement was an anime trailer directed and storyboarded by Ryuu Nakayama, perhaps best known for being the director of the Chainsaw Man anime series (Nakayama’s other past credits include being the director and storyboard artist for Gamers! and The Ryuo’s Work Is Never Done!‘s openings). The trailer features Uruha Ichinose of the Lupinus Virtual Games unit facing off against Akina Myodo, the protagonist of the upcoming Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ anime.

The VSPO! x Vanguard trailer features character designs from Shibito and is produced by the Nakayama-founded Andraft (Nakayama revealed the info around the time of the trailer’s release) with production assistance from Kiko, AtoriE, EMT Squared, HIJIRI, PSD DELIVERY, and IM.Lab. Some of the other staff credits include Sakuracho as color designer; Tomotaka Wakumoto (“Shiori” music videoco-compositor) as compositing director, motion graphics designer, and editor; and IM.Lab as music composer. Nakayama is credited as one of the animation producers in addition to their previously mentioned roles.
