“Neve Campbell Parodies Scream Role For American Red Cross Ad”
Neve Campbell may not be on board the new Scream movie, but she is sending up her character in a new horror-themed ad for Red Cross.
Neve Campbell appeared as Sidney Prescott in all five Scream movies, but due to a reported pay dispute she will not be back for Scream 6. While there have been a lot of rumors and comments about the star not returning for the latest Ghostface face-off, it seems that she is still happy to get in character when it is for a good cause.
The video features a number of scenes that include some familiar set-ups from various horror movies, and Campbell’s scenes are located in a very similar house to that of Stu Macher in the original Scream. While others in the ad are seen succumbing to their expected horror movie deaths, Campbell does the same as Sidney did in five movies and manages to avoid being just another “waste of blood”.
Scream 6 Will Feature A Number of Returning Franchise Favorites
Although fans were disappointed that Neve Campbell will be absent from Scream 6, fellow original cast member Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers and she won’t be coming back alone. Scream 6 will also see the return of 2022’s Scream stars Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, who will all be leaving Woodsboro behind to move the horror franchise to the new setting of New York.
In addition to this, Hayden Panettiere will be back in the franchise in her Scream 4 role of Kirby Reed after missing out of the fifth movie. Panettiere recently revealed that Kirby’s comeback was all her idea, and after not being a part of the fifth movie she was determined to make sure that she got back in on the action this time around. The actress previously said, “I called them up myself and was like, ‘So, you guys don’t happen to want to bring Kirby back, do you?’ I wanted to be in it that badly. I don’t think anyone’s going to be disappointed.”
Scream did reasonably well when it was released earlier this year and it did not take long for the wheels to begin turning on a sequel. Whether a change of setting can bring something new to the franchise is something that we will find out next year when Scream 6 brings Ghostface to a whole new playground in the Big Apple on March 31,2023.
