Have no fear, Netgear is here! Forget tethering your laptop or tablet to your smartphone when you need Wi-Fi on the go—Netgear’s new Nighthawk M5 5G WiFi 6 Mobile Router is here to save the day … if you can afford it.

The Nighthawk M5 is an impressive beast. It’s unlocked and takes a 5G SIM card for either T-Mobile or AT&T’s networks and impressively gives you all the Wi-Fi 6 you’ll need. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 Mobile Platform, the hotspot router can reach a maximum theoretical speed of 1.2Gbps via WiFi 11ax for up to 32 devices. That seems like a lot, but it’s perfect for anyone needing to travel with an artillery of Internet-connected devices.

You’ll also be able to connect the router to a mesh Wi-Fi network or an individual device, thanks to its dedicated 1Gbps Ethernet port. Plus, in addition to 5GNR Sub 6GHz, the router also supports LTE Advanced, LTE CAT 20, 256QAM, and 4×4 MIMO.

The device itself has a small touchscreen display that’ll show you information like the remaining battery life and your WiFi password. You can also view and manage the router’s settings, connection status, data usage, and more through the companion mobile app (iOS/Android).

Netgear’s Nighthawk M5 5G WiFi 6 Mobile Router is powerful and feature-rich, but its steep price may well be its one shortcoming: it costs a whopping $700. While it’s pretty impressive, and it’s unlocked to work with pretty much any carrier, it’s also much pricier in comparison with the other portable hotspot options out there. Still interested? Pre-order it now from Netgear.
