#Netflix Debuts Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 Debuts on August 2024, Releases Teaser Visual & Trailer
Netflix announced that it will exclusively debut Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 on its streaming service this coming August 2024. The first part of the anime’s second season began streaming for 12 episodes on Netflix September 21, 2023.
A teaser PV trailer and visual for Part 2 have also been released, highlighting many of the fights that involve fighter Ohma Tokita.
The production staff from season one are once again working on season two. They include Seiji Kishi (Yuki Yuna is a Hero: The Great Mankai Chapter) as director, Makoto Uezu (Rumble Garanndoll) and Go Zappa (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) as the series screenwriters, Kazuaki Morita (Classroom of the Elite II) as the character designer, and Yasuharu Takanashi (Taisho Otome Fairy Tale) as the music composer. Larx Entertainment is the animation production company for the anime series.
Meanwhile, the main cast is headlined by Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ohma Tokita and Choo as Kazuo Yamashita.
The anime series is based on the action manga written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s digital magazine Ura Sunday and MangaONE app from April 18, 2012 to August 9, 2018. A total of 27 tankobon volumes were published as of February 2019. Comikey releases the manga series in English digitally.
A sequel series titled Kengan Omega was launched on the same platforms on January 17, 2019. Nineteen tankobon volumes have been released as of October 2023. Comikey also releases the sequel series in English.
Comikey describes the main synopsis of the series as:
Since the Edo periods of Japan, gladiator arenas exist in certain areas. In these arenas, wealthy business owners and merchants hire gladiators to fight in unarmed combat where winner takes all. Tokita Ohma, nicknamed “Ashura”, joins these arenas and devastates his opponents. His spectacular ability to crush his enemies catches the attention of the big business owners, including the Nogi Group chairman, Nogi Hideki.
