#Neo and Trinity Return to the Source in New The Matrix Resurrections Poster

Warner Bros. has just released the international poster for The Matrix Resurrections via Twitter. Neo and Trinity alone approach the source. With the caption, “Return to the source. Check out the international poster for #TheMatrixResurrections. In Cinemas December 22,” they launched fans in to a frenzy.

Robb says what everyone’s been saying around the office. “Seems like the effects technology has caught up with the story. REALLY excited for this.”

Manic Velocity has pointed out what many other Matrix sleuths have been saying. “I’m curious why neither of the official posters use the correct “official” matrix code glyphs? It looks like this international poster even features some broken characters in the font that was used.”

Shawn says, “Never resonated with something so much. The Matrix was the beginning of my wake up, since them I’ve been waiting to return to source. This tag line has blown my mind.”

But what was the overall message being conveyed to Warner Bros.? “second trailer?????????”

The Matrix Resurrections picks up from where the first film left off with our original duo Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), seemingly having forgotten the events from the films sandwiched between, and is probably the most impactful in delivering that magical combination of nostalgia and originality. The official synopsis reads, “In a world of two realities – everyday life and what lies behind it – Thomas Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. Choice, while an illusion, is still the only way in or out of the Matrix, which is stronger, more secure, and more dangerous than ever before.” If you’ve, unbelievably, missed it, check out the trailer here.

When The Matrix hit the screens in 1999, the world was relatively new to the world wide web. Boomers were wondering what all the hub-bub was about, and what this electronic mail the whippersnappers were talking about. The premise was a fresh idea to the masses, and simultaneously the next generation was nodding their heads, then pumping their fists with what they understood cyber intelligence could become. The next installment is hitting 20 years later, but it still seems to be on the cusp of something new all these years later. It seems we’re all pumped to take another jab at the menacing machine. And the franchise shows no signs of stopping. Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff in an interview with Deadline, said the film was “originally conceived to reboot the series on the big screen,” and “Anytime Lana [Wachowski] wants to make a movie, we’re all in.” Which pill is it gonna be, Ms. Wachowski?
